The artwork is designed in a contemporary arrangement but the selected motifs on the sides of the sculpture represent Vanuatu traditional symbols. The artist selected well-known handicraft images of different
islands of Vanuatu that are used in daily life or in custom ceremonies. The viewers can look at these designs and identify which island or province they belong.
